Objective: To evaluate the success of using a MOOC to teach a leadership course. Methods: The College of Public Health offered a leadership course that combined in-person instruction with a MOOC taught by faculty at Case Western Reserve. Results: The MOOC was hard to align with the course schedule and to assure its quality; however, students enjoyed it. Conclusion: Given the alignment and quality demands, there is a limited future for MOOCs in traditional courses.
